Wimmin is a Myskery Popeye Storyboard Drawings Group (Max Fleischer, 1940). This is a complete set of 145 storyboards for the 81st Popeye cartoon, under the working title “Popeye’s Kids.” It was directed by Dave Fleischer and is noteworthy in that it introduced Popeye’s nephews – Pipeye, Peepeye, Poopeye, and Pupeye. In their first appearance, they are Popeye and Olive’s kids in a dream Olive has after Popeye proposes to her. Jack Mercer did the voice of Popeye and all four nephews in this short. This black and white short was released on 6/7/40. It was written by comic strip artist Tack Knight (1895-1976) and future Warner Brothers Looney Tunes writer Tedd Pierce (here credited as “Ted”). Mr Pierce worked at Fleischer from 1939 until 1941.
